The WellCat Counseling Center at Chico State prioritizes self-care as a crucial aspect of students' daily lives. During the design process for these shirts, it was important to the interns and staff members to have a shirt they enjoyed wearing while also representing the Counseling Center. Due to budget constraints, the design team opted for a minimalistic approach, using black and white colors. For the actual graphics on the T-Shirt, having something that would appeal to new trends and a younger audience was an important factor with a majority of the office employees and interns being women in their 20’s-30’s. The layout is inspired by band tour T-shirts but with a unique twist—the theme of self-care and its importance, showcasing 40 different ways it can be practiced. The addition of the four-point star graphics adds fun visual interest and emphasizes the main heading within the design, while the use of the Rafaella type for the heading gives a unique and playful feeling to the overall design.
